2010 MEETING SCHEDULE

 

The 2010 regular meeting schedule for the Board of Supervisors of Durham Township, Bucks County, PA  is as follows:  the second Tuesday of each month; Jan 12; Feb 09; March 09; April 13; May 11; June 08; July 13; Aug. 10; Sept. 14; Oct. 12; Nov. 09; and Dec.14. 

 

The 2010 meeting schedule for the Townships’ Planning Commission is the first Tuesday of each month:  Jan. 05; Feb. 02; March 02; April 06; May 04; June 01; July 06; August 03; Sept. 07; Oct. 05; Nov. 03 (Wed); and Dec. 07.  All meetings are on an “as-needed” basis.

 

The 2010 meeting schedule for the Townships’ Park & Recreation Board is the fourth Tuesday of each month:  Jan. 26; Feb. 23; March 23; April 27; May 25; June 22; July 27; August 24; Sept. 28; Oct. 26; Nov. 23; and Dec. 21.  All meetings are on an “as-needed” basis.

 

The Townships’ EAC meets quarterly strictly as needed on third Tuesday; January 19, April 20, July 20, & October 19th.

 

All meetings begin at 7:30 PM and are held in the Townships’ Municipal Building located at 215 Old Furnace Road, Durham, PA 18039 unless posted at site otherwise. 

 

The public is invited & encouraged to attend all meetings.

PUBLIC NOTICE

 

Durham Township has the following volunteer board openings:

 

Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) ......One (1) Opening

Must be available to attend quarterly meetings held on the third Tuesday in January, April, July, and October.

When requested by the Board of Supervisors, advises them on township environmental matters.

 

 

Park & Recreation Board...One (1) Opening

Must be available to attend monthly meetings held on the fourth Tuesday of the month, as needed

Assist in developing and participate in community recreation events, i.e. Community Day, Colonial Wreath Making Class, Summer Concert Series and other Grist Mill Events

Assist in maintaining and up-keep of township ball field & historic grist mill when requested to do so.

 

Open Space Committee...(ALL 5 Positions - Reforming)

Advises the Board of Supervisors on preservation of land in the township.

 

Interested township residents only can contact the township manager at the township office 610-346-8911 for more information or to submit a letter of interest.  All candidates are reviewed & appointed by the township supervisors.

RIGHT-TO-KNOW LAW ACT 3 OF 2008

 

In accordance with Act 3, signed into law on February 14, 2008 by Governor Edward G. Rendell; Durham Township, via Resolution 2009-1enacted on January 13, 2009 by the Board of Supervisors, hereby enacts the following:

 

The Township Manager/Secretary hereby is appointed as the townships’ “Right-To-Know” / “Open Records Officer”

 

All requests for accessible “public records” shall be submitted in writing to him/her. 

 

The township shall make a good faith effort to respond within five (5) working days of receipt of the request whenever possible.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

 

Sealed Proposals will be received by the Board of Supervisors of Durham Township, a Second Class Township of Bucks County, PA, at the Durham Township Municipal Building, located at 215 Old Furnace Road, PO Box 4, Durham, PA 18039, up to 4:00 PM on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 for the following:

 

19,524 Sq. Yards (Double Coat)

Bituminous Seal Coat per

PennDOT Specs Form 408

(In place as directed)

 

The above Square Yards are approximate.

 

The sealed bids will be publicly opened and awarded July 13, 2010 at approximately 7:30 PM at the normal monthly business meeting of the Durham Township Board of Supervisors.  All proposals must be on the forms furnished by Durham Township and must be picked-up at the Township Office during normal business hours (8AM to 4PM Monday thru Friday).  The Township reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals and to award the contract in the best interest of Durham Township.  The bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid, made payable to Durham Township.  A performance bond or certified check in the amount of 100% of the contract shall be furnished by the successful bidder within 20 days after the contract is awarded.

 

The successful bidder must attend a mandatory pre-project conference with the Township Road Master.  All roads to be seal coated must be swept before and after the project, with the debris/stones that are swept off the roadway being dumped into a township truck, with a township driver, and hauled off site.

 

The project must be completed by August 27, 2010. Liquidated damages apply at the rate of $250.00 per calendar day.  The township office telephone number is 610-346-8911.
