Township Building Meeting Room

 

Attendees:           Ken Klein, Pete Thomson, Tom Harbin, Lois Oleksa, Jim Pavlica & Cindy Skoriak

 

Quorum:             Yes

 

Secretary:           Joseph M. Kulick

 

Absent:                George Helwig

 

Zoning Officer Peter Bent and Township Engineer Scott Mease were also present.

 

Meeting called to order by Chairman Ken Klein at 7:38 PM.  All in attendance stood and recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag.

 

Approval of Minutes from 07-06-2010 Meeting:  

Tom Harbin made a motion to accept the Minutes as presented and Jim Pavlica seconded the motion.  Pete Thomson abstained since he was not present at that meeting and all the others agreed.  Motion passed and Minutes were approved.  

 

New Business:  None Presented

 

Old Business:

 

Zoning Ordinance Update:

 

The commission resumed the update by first reviewing their work session of 07-27-10:

1.      At draft ZO page 45; item 6 Delete All and add existing ZO page 4-12; item f Garden Apartments (all).

2.      At draft ZO page 47; item 8 Definition of “cottage”? Small permanent structure intended for sleeping purposes only... (Ken will research further).

3.      At draft ZO page 47; item 8 (b) change 180 to 120 days.

4.      At draft ZO page 48; add (h) with verbiage:  “See page 66 item (c)”

5.      At draft ZO page 48; item 9 delete all down to (e) inserting existing ZO page 4-15 B3 Conversion (all)...leaving (e) (f) (g) of draft ZO which will become (i) (j) (k). 

6.      At draft ZO page 49 #13 delete last line and add “not less than 10 acres”. 

7.      At draft ZO page 50; item 16 (a) (1) delete all and add existing ZO page 4-9 (b) porch specs.

8.      At draft ZO page 169; item D; add “or new” between existing / dwelling & delete “no new structure” terminology & delete last sentence from “but shall not be divided....”

 

Session stopped at page 51: C. Religious, Educational, Recreational and Institutional Uses.

 

Next “work session” to be held on Tuesday, 08-24-2010 at 7:30 PM in the township building. There were no further comments or questions. 

 

Comments / Questions from the Floor:

 

Jim Pavlica noted that an area covered at work sessions gets needlessly re-hashed at length at the following regular meeting; defeating the purpose of additional work sessions.    

 

Closing:

 

A motion to Adjourn was made by Pete Thomson and seconded by Jim Pavlica, all were in favor.  Meeting adjourned at @9:32 PM.  Next public meeting is scheduled for 09-07-2010.
