Durham Township Planning Commission

Township Building Meeting Room

 

Attendees:             Don Ratushny, Ken Klein, Jim Pavlica, Pete Thomson and George Helwig

 

Quorum:               Yes

 

Secretary:             Joseph M. Kulick

 

Absent:                  Cindy Skoriak and Township Engineer Scott Mease

 

Township Zoning Officer Peter Bent & Paul Hartley from Mease Engineering were also present.

 

Approval of Minutes from 03-06-2007 Meeting:

George Helwig made a motion to accept the Minutes as presented; Jim Pavlica seconded the motion and all agreed (Pete Thomson abstained since he was not present at meeting). Minutes Approved as presented.

 

Recognition of Retiring Member Gerald Ulmer:

The Chairman announced the retirement of Gerald Ulmer from the Planning Commission effective April 01, 2007.  He submitted a resignation letter to the township and did not state a reason.  He will be missed.  Joe Kulick was directed by the Chairman to draft a letter thanking him for his years of service.

 

Old Business:

 

Continued Discussion on Amending Zoning & SALDO Ordinances:

 

Paul Hartley & Peter Bent proceeded to continue reading the Zoning Ordinance Definitions and highlighting any items in question.  Joe Kulick will record all suggested changes in an official township zoning book.  The Commission stopped the review after “Lot Line” in the definition section and will pick-up the process at “Manufactured Home” at next months meeting.  (See township zoning book for notes on official items discussed)

 

New Business:  (None Presented)

 

Comments / Questions from the Floor: 

 

Resident Lois Oleksa suggested the township consider establishing a requirement for new homes to be built facing south for environmental purposes.  She also suggested that the township should just send our zoning ordinance to the Bucks County Planning Commission to be reviewed and updated without any local review.

A motion to Adjourn was made by George Helwig and seconded by Pete Thomson, all were in favor.  Meeting adjourned at @9:12 PM.
